Spend a few days in the east Tennessee mountains and help a growing church finish a new worship center at the same time. The Carpenters for Christ will sponsor a warm-up trip in Mountain City, TN, prior to our main 2014 project. Mountain City is where Cherokee Cove (Mission 2011) is located. The C4C has been called on to provide framing, electrical and plumbing labor. The building is enclosed so the weather will not be a factor in our work. Come join us as we build for the glory of Jesus.

What

Work will involve building the exterior walls on the inside of the exterior skin of this post and beam constructed building; hanging ceiling joists; framing up four small cubicles; framing up the platform; plumbing top out for a small bathroom; electrical work for the lights and receptacles in the worship center and cubicles and insulation and drywall as time permits.

Where

We will be staying and eating breakfast with Stu and Samantha at Cherokee Cove. The building site is 6 miles from Cherokee Cove. Community Church will be providing all other meals on site during the day and evening Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

How Much?

Cost is $35.00 per person; however, do not let the cost prevent you from coming. Checks should be made out to Lakeview Baptist Church and the comment should say Mountain City Mini Trip 2014. Deadline for registration is March 31, 2014.

Sorry, registration has closed for this trip. Please contact Don Green (don.green at CarpentersForChrist.com, 334.329.1773 if you have questions.

You will need to bring:

  • a Bible
  • bed linens or a sleeping bag
  • bathroom linens
  • toilet articles
  • pillow
  • your personal tools (anything that goes in or hangs on your tool belt – if you don’t have a tool belt or tools, come anyway)

    • ladders (up to 10’ only)
    • reciprocating saws
    • hammer drills
    • etc.
